Hey Guys! We're a week into the new year already! I hope everyone set some goals for themselves. It takes 21 days to establish a habit. Pick 1 goal or new habit a month if you'd like and hopefully by the end of the month, it will stick! You have to hold yourself accountable or you're not going to achieve your goals! For those that haven't made a list, what is holding you back? I know getting into fitness can cost a lot of money, trust me, I'm a full-time student who works part time... money is almost non-existent! However, it doesn't have to cost a fortune! You can get workout gear on sale at Target or TJ Max. Who cares if it doesn't match! Also, there are SO many workouts you can do from home! You do not need a gym membership, I don't have one! The January challenge i'm doing doesn't require any equipment (posted below)! Check out some other workouts below that do not require equipment! There are also many websites like fitnessmagazine.com and prevention.com that post workouts that either require no equipment or sometimes just a jump rope which you can get for about $12. Also, if you're already an Amazon.com Prime Member, they have a lot of instant videos you can stream through a computer or gaming console. There are some free yoga videos, as well as pilates, Jillian Michaels: 30 Day Shred, and The Biggest Loser workouts for as low as $1.99 per episode. Just start somewhere!
As for myself, I'm proud to say I'm back to my weight that I was on December 20th so there is no holiday fat lying around! People ask me how to kill bloat and often want to go on these crazy cleanses... all it takes is a lot of water and some hot green tea for me and I'm feeling so much better the next day! Today was Day 50 of Insanity for me. I completed my 4th Fit Test... here are the results!
I'm pleased with my improvements... those globe jumps still kill me lol. Thirteen days left then I'm taking a week off to recover, do some yoga and work on stretching and flexibility training... then hopefully starting Brazil Butt Lift!
School starts up again in a week so I'm trying to enjoy every free minute as much as possible! I have been writing out a meal plan for myself and planning my next grocery shop so that I can stay healthy once things get hectic again. I've also been practicing some interview questions for my grad school interview on the 19th... very nervous! I also have to purchase an outfit for it because all of my "fancy" clothes are wayyyy too big on me...
I really hope everyone is off to a good start... just think of how happy you'll be with yourself a year from now! Yes it's going to be hard work, you're going to sweat, maybe be miserable at times... I know, it sure ain't easy! but looking back, I wouldn't change a thing! I'm so proud of how far I have come and it's a great feeling to see improvements and realize that all of that hard work pays off!! So don't forget to take pictures every 2 weeks or every month so you can compare your results... remember: results aren't just a number on a scale... that does NOT define you! Take measurements, take pictures, set challenges for yourself! For example, in December I did a push-up challenge... I was unable to do more than 1 push-up on my toes before that... by the end of the month, I was doing 40!
